I am writing you today to tell you something fabulous. Have you ever had a pomegranate? No no, not the juice from the voluptuous plastic POM bottle…. the real fruit? The outside is a thick maroon sphere with an opening at the top that if it where an electronic device, that is where you would connect your lightning cable. Slice open the fruit and behold the most beautiful collection of tiny seeds covered in sweet juice.
Anyhooo, these seeds are so beneficial to your heart and have been known to break up artery blockages. Holy toledo, right? Great little antioxidants.
The fruit is only available in September through January, so be sure to go pick some up today for a holiday treat. I like to just snack on the seeds by themselves but they are great tossed in a salad, rolled with some cheese, or mixed up with melted chocolate then spread on some parchment to create a bark.
